Scouting Comments Zack Berg is on the list of top rising high school senior football recruits in the Northwest. A hard working, multi-talented athlete and dedicated student, Zack is the player coaches find hard to take off the field. He excels at safety, linebacker, running back, receiving, kickoff returns, punting and kicking. Edmonds Head Coach John Gradwohl says "Zack is an outstanding student/athlete and leader on and off the field. Leading the team in tackles, he leads by example always putting the team first and is a pleasure to coach." Kings Head Coach Jim Shapiro states "I have had the privilege of knowing Zack for 5 years...Zach was a varsity starter for us his freshman and sophomore years. In all athletic arenas you can expect Zack to excel and give his best effort towards his personal and team goals. Not only is Zack a gifted athlete with size, speed and strength he is a trustworthy person." Focused on his goal to earn a degree in education, Zack spends time volunteering with over 120 hours of service in his community including being youth mentor with the Warrior Buddy program and helping with church Thanksgiving outreach. Zack will be a solid asset to any college program and college community.
"Zack Berg is one of the top athletes in all of Western Washington. He’s a sensational young man who has tremendous desire and skill. Zack brings hard work; passion, enthusiasm, and the gift of making his teammates laugh and enjoy competing. I believe Zack will be an even bigger asset at the college level where there are more athletes as focused and gifted as he is. Zack has a wonderful ability to raise the level of his game to meet or exceed the moment or level of competition. Zack is a joy to coach for those of us who have been blessed with the opportunity".
