Scouting Comments Matt OConnell strives for excellence and so far his focus has produced All Conference and All Area Recogntion throughout his three years of Varsity Football experiance along with a 4.0 GPA and National Honor Society recognition. Coach Sargent states "Matt is one of the most driven and goal oriented players/students I have ever been around. From classroom to the field he is all business. He has set his goals very high and is willing to sacrifice the time and effort to work towards achieving those goals. I believe Matt is doing everything he can to prepare himself for playing football at the next level and wish him the best of luck. I do not think there is anyone more deserving of the opportunity to prove himself at the next level than Matt". Matt is a team player who studies the game and sets goals for each week and each season. He leads by example with his determination and hard work. Matt has maintained a straight A academic record since entering high school. He volunteers his time mentoring peers, coaching youth sports camps and helps with other fund raising and church projects. When Matt chooses a college football program that school will be gaining a well rounded and driven young leader. BW
